Life Coach Review – The Secret Behind The Secret

After “The Secret” a lot us would get up every morning, sit in front of our newly created Vision Board and sit there meditating or “Om-ing” on those pictures, the dream home, lottery numbers, 6 figure salary, etc, etc…  

AND  that’s where you left it. Then about 6 or so months later, you gave up the morning visualisation, torn down the vision board and move onto the next sure thing that was going to abundantly provide, with the least amount of effort, because you were not reaching the goals as The Secret promised.

I was one of those people and it took me about 9 months to get that simply asking the universe for something, ie only doing visualisation around it, does not work.

Intent alone is not enough. The  winning not-so-secret formula of Intent, Planning and Action will get you close to, if not 100% there. Give it a go!

Let me elaborate:

  1. You need to fully visual the end results (goal) | Specific and measureable goals are best (Intent)
  2. Draw up a plan with tactic/actions to get you there (Planning)
  3. Take daily action and introduce  success forming habits or practices (including visualisation) to get you to results you desire (Action)

By doing all three of the above, you get into the flow of attracting the right opportunities, resources and people that bring you closer to your goals and probably attaining them with ease.

Even in the bible it states “Ask and you shall receive (intention), seek and you shall find (put a plan together), knock and the door will be open (taking action).  I’m sure in most spiritual practices they say the same.

Do ONE thing at a time… 

We all want success, that wonderful feeling of success. Yet most of us give up after a few passionate weeks of trying or floundering. Why so?

Most of us do not plan out how we are going to get to our end goal – not in life anyhow. We seem to be much better at planning tasks, tactics for work obligations.

When it come to personal goals or dreams we can get overwhelmed when we feel we are not making progress. We don’t list things. We keep it in our heads. Then we stress the f**k or totally forget our commitment to what we wanted to do.

How to Overcome Not Completing Tasks?

Do ONE thing at time. Start off with the one thing that will give you a quick result or the one thing that you are passionate / love doing. That way you will take action. See it through to completion. Marinate in your achievement.

Then move onto idea number 2… Before you know it, you’ll be drawing up a new to-do or bucket list…

Two of my clients got asked to leave their jobs over the last couple of weeks. One of them had a great payout and now has the time to think about what he wants to do with his life. The other got barely enough to cover his mortgage and has a sense of urgency in finding a new “something” for or returning back to the same industry she was in before.

They both had career change as one of their objectives for coming to life coaching. Both were keen to live the “2nd Half” of life doing something that motivated them.

Now that the universe has given them a gentle nudge in that career change direction, the world of pure potential has opened up for them. From a Life& Business Coaching perspective, we are now working on making that dream come true and both have achieved some tremendous results already.

The following is some personal and client insight into what you can do to lessen those fears in these times, things you probably already know but always worth being reminded of:

7 steps you can take to deal with the stress of losing your job?

  • Immediately work out your budget – what does it cost for you to live per month?
  • From there, work out how long you can afford not to earn – this will then help you decide whether now is the time for you to pursue a career change
  • Where can you make cutbacks in your spending? some? Implement cutbacks immediately! i.e. that gym membership you never use… Put on hold…
  • Who are your mentors? Call them and seek advice
  • Go visit your Life Coach, Healer, do something that is grounding and good for you
  • Who is in your inner circle and your greater network of friends, classmates, colleagues, etc. that can help you find a job? Who of them can help you? Learn to use to use your network!
  • If you want a career change, do you have the skills already or do you need to skill up? Start looking up courses

One last insight for those dealing with change… Go visit a Playground…! Get on a swing, see-saw, climbing frame… Go nuts and bring out the child like wonder within! Have some fun at this time. A night out with you best friends is another way to let your hair down… The hangover on the morning after… Ah well… You’ll get over that too!
